In August 26, 2008, the Tyler Municipal Court purchased five PlateScan 4-camera systems for their City Marshal vehicles.
The Court Administrator and City Marshal made sure that their PlateScan Connect back-office system was connected to the city network, which would also gave the Tyler Police Department access to their ALPR data.
Within 48 hours of implementation of the systems, Tyler PD received a Missing Person Report and, using the PlateScan Connect Back-Office software, they discovered the Marshals had scanned the victim’s vehicle shortly after he was last seen. The victim was located.
In the past six months, City Marshals have used their PlateScan systems to make a total of 347 arrests, clearing 917 warrants. These arrests resulted in a total of $275,156.51 in outstanding warrants cleared and $94,702.23 in cash collected.
